SINOTRUK and Toyota Motor Corporation Signed Strategic Cooperation Agreement

On April 25, SINOTRUK and Toyota Motor Corporation signed a strategic cooperation agreement at Toyota’s headquarters in Nagoya, Japan. Man Shengang, Party Secretary and Chairman of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, and Yoichi Miyazaki, Executive Vice President of Toyota Motor Corporation, attended the signing ceremony and held discussions. Ma Changhai, Party Committee Member and Vice President of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, and Mitsumasa Yamagata, General Manager of Toyota’s Hydrogen Factory, also participated in the event.

Man Shengang stated that SINOTRUK and Toyota Motor Corporation have long been actively advancing cooperation in the hydrogen energy sector, achieving encouraging progress and practical results in the joint development and application of hydrogen fuel cell heavy-duty trucks and powertrain systems. Shandong Heavy Industry Group has always embraced an open and collaborative approach, working alongside global industry giants. We look forward to deepening our strategic cooperation with Toyota Motor Corporation across broader fields and at higher levels, achieving complementary advantages and jointly exploring future opportunities.
Yoichi Miyazaki affirmed the recent achievements of the cooperation, stating that China represents a market with immense potential for the widespread adoption of hydrogen energy. Long-haul, heavy-duty freight vehicles are an ideal application for hydrogen energy solutions. He expressed his anticipation for deepening cooperation in the hydrogen energy sector, aiming to open up vast opportunities for future development and make a greater contribution to global carbon neutrality efforts.
Han Feng, representing SINOTRUK, and Shinichi Tanabe, representing Toyota’s Hydrogen Factory, signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of both parties. Toyota Motor Corporation holds world-leading hydrogen fuel cell technology, while SINOTRUK is a leader in China’s commercial vehicle industry. The hydrogen fuel cell-powered tractor trucks jointly developed by both companies have already been delivered in batches for application in the market. Moving forward, the two companies will expand their cooperation in areas such as joint development of hydrogen fuel cell commercial vehicles, demonstration operations, promotion and application and business model innovation. Together, they aim to create a new  zero-carbon logistics ecosystem.

Man Shengang also visited Toyota's exhibition hall and hydrogen powertrain facility.
