Congratulations! Two Employees of Shandong Heavy Industry Group Awarded the Title of "National Model Worker"

On April 28, the grand ceremony celebrating the 100th anniversary of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and the National Commendation Conference for Model Workers and Advanced Workers was held in Beijing, where 2,426 National Model Workers and Advanced Workers were honored. Ding Weiyun, Dean and Senior Engineer at the Automotive Research Institute of China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co., Ltd., and Jia Xiangbo, Chief Technician and Senior Technician at SINOTRUK Jinan Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd., were awarded the prestigious title of 'National Model Worker.'

Ding Weiyun has always worked at the forefront of technological innovation, leading his team in the development of multiple series of heavy-duty commercial vehicles, including the New Yellow River, HOWO, T7H and SITRAK. Under his leadership, the company has maintained the number one market share in China’s commercial vehicle industry for many years, with products sold in more than 110 countries and regions worldwide. He has been honored with numerous awards, including the National May 1st Labor Medal, the May 1st Labor Medal from Shandong Province, and recognition as a Taishan Industry Leading Talent. He pioneered technologies for predicting and optimizing commercial vehicle ride comfort and solved complex issues related to the integrated design and optimization of internal combustion engine combustion systems. In the development of the next-generation Yellow River long-haul logistics tractor, he achieved 93.6% mechanical efficiency for the powertrain's drivetrain, with a drag coefficient of the heavy-duty truck as low as 0.286. He spearheaded the development of intelligent connected chassis and drive-by-wire technologies, enabling remote intelligent operation monitoring for heavy-duty trucks and achieving the world’s first large-scale deployment of autonomous container trucks. Supported by major national R&D projects, he led his team in overcoming key technical challenges in the development of high-strength, high-toughness QT700 cast iron and lightweight frame technologies, successfully achieving a curb weight of under 7.8 tons for a mass-produced 6×4 heavy-duty truck compliant with National VI Vehicle Emission Standards, reaching internationally advanced benchmarks.

Jia Xiangbo has been honored with numerous prestigious awards, including the National May 1st Labor Medal, the 'Qilu Craftsmen' title, the Labor Medal on Enriching Shandong Province, the Jinan Model Worker Award, the 'Jinan Craftsmen' title, the May 1st Labor Medal from Jinan, and the Outstanding Contribution Technician of Jinan City.
